KYLC '07
I have just come back from a week at my first ever Katoomba Youth Leaders Convention (KYLC). For those who have no idea what KYLC is, it's a bible/church camp, getting youth leaders/workers from churches all over NSW to come together for a week and get some training and learn some valuable tools for their leading youth groups. This year's theme was Strong and Courageous.This was my first KYLC, so I was in Strand 1 with quite a few other ppl both from my own church West Sydney Chinese Christian Church (WSCCC) and other ppl I know. It was great fun hanging with people I don't usually talk to and getting to meet and know some people from other churches. Here's a shout out to all the ppl from KYLC;
my strand group 1.08; Yin, Dave N, Alby, Jenny, Paul, Alex, Amanda, Sharon, Winnie;

cabra anglican boys; Andy, Chris, John, David, Will, Brian, Alan;
WS-ers; Manda, Vivian, Betty, Jasmine, Mona, Angie, Dan, Will T, Matt S, Matt L, J Chow, Carol, Doreen, Tim Woo;
Con; Michael (keyboardist)Others; Edith, Victor, Tracey
Hopefully I will get the photo from Alby soon of my strand group and I'll be able to post it on here, and maybe a few random photos from some of the other peeps.
On the whole the camp was better than expected, although the food was gross, the beds awful to sleep in, and the workshops a waste of time, the talks, both morning and evening on Joshua and Titus respectively, and the strand group work was extremely good.
I also got to play table tennis with Will T and Around the World with pushups/situp penalties with David, Andy, Will, JChow, and a board game called Articulate, and Scattergories, and also the REALLY FUN GAMES "THE DUMB NINJA GAME" and "ZAAA!!!"
Originally I had thought that since I was going to be there without my best friend Grape, I would be rather lonely and wouldn't enjoy myself as much, but I found to my delight that I was wrong, and I really enjoyed it, and I'm rather sad that I might not be able to go next year, but may have to skip a year due to a planned trip overseas to HK and some other places.
I felt really challenged by the talks, so much so that I actually started considering joining a childrens' ministry at church, and for those who don't know me extremely well like my best friend does, I generally don't like kids, so she thought I was going a bit whacked in the head when I told her that. But I will definitely be going back to do the other 2 strands and God willing, to learn more and hopefully be able to apply the things I've learnt for the Glory of God.

*shudders* Must start some sort of counter-camp to these things. "All worship the dancing purple hippo!". =P
