Unfortunately, RICE was totally sold out, and although I had pre-bought a ticket, they asked those who were not in high school and already christians to kindly give up their tickets, so I didn't get to go to the Rally this year. I'll be on the look out for the talk that will hopefully be posted on utube soon.

RICE: BIG DAY OUT

RICE is on once again!
Rice Interchurch Evanglistic Event is where a whole group of Chinese Churches around Sydney get together to have a youth gathering to spread the Gospel of Jesus Christ.

Last saturday I week to RICE: Big Day Out at Homebush Bay, my first BDO despite being a veteran to RICE since '03. Being already late, my friends and I made a direct bee-line to the lunch sausage sizzle, then spent an hour wondering around, eating, saying hi to people, listening to two great talks and then I went on two jumping castles and played tug-of-war to cap off the day.
The thing that stuck with me the most from the talks was James Fong's hands analogy, of which I can only give the last few lines;
"so what's it to be? Say to God - UP YOURS! or pray to God...I'm Yours?"

/edit: you can see this talk on utube at http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Cs0DjSiscR0

I'm really looking forward to the RICE RALLY this coming saturday 6:30pm at Town Hall.

Recipe for the Oreo Cheesecake: THANKS TO JOYCE!
3 tubes of Oreos
100g Butter/Magerine
2x 250g Philadelphia Cream Cheese
250g Caster Sugar
250g Cooking White Chocolate
200ml Thickened Cream

Instructions:
1) Grease n Paper any medium to large size cake tinFor Cheesecake Base:
2) Process/Hammer 2 tubes of oreos to fine crumbs
3) Melt 100g butter and mix it with the oreo crumbs
4) Put mixture in cake tin and evenly spread + firmly press mixture insidecake tin
5) Then set aside (no need to put into fridge)For Cheesecake Filling:
6) With an electric mixer, mix cream cheese with the caster sugar in alarge bowl till smoothNOTE: If u don't have an electric mixer, stick cream cheese in themicrowave in med heat for 30 - 60 secs or until quite soft and just use abig spoon to mix the caster sugar with the cream cheese until smooth
7) Melt white chocolate (be careful when using a microwave to melt anychocolate becoz they burn easily and they do not liquify when heated in amicrowave, which means, even when they are melted they will still looksolid. TIP: Melt in Med Heat and check with a spoon every 20 secs to seeif chocolate is very soft)
8) Pour melted chocolate and thickened cream into cream cheese mixture andcontinue mixing with mixer till smooth and consistent (for ppl withoutelectric mixer, just gently mix the indregients together, at first, itwill seem like there is too much thickened cream but be patient and keepmixing because they will eventually come together into one thick mixture)
9) Process/Hammer the remaining packet of oreos into small pieces- it doesnot need to be fine crumbs
10) With a big spoon, mix the oreo pieces into the cheesecake mixture
11) Pour mixture into the cake tin and make sure it is evenly spread insidethe cale tin
12) Stick it into the fridge overnight for gauranteered good results or, ifu need to eat it desparately, stick it in freezer for a minimum 4 hrs butresults might vary...
