AnCon07
I just came home from a week at AnCon, USyd's Evangelical Union's (EU) Annual Conference.It was held at Stanwell Tops and the topic was Resurrection, with the speakers being Rowan Kemp and Ian Powell.
The talks and review groups were extremely intense, and it was such a privilege to be able to be on the receiving end of a weeks worth of such heavy spiritual solid food. For Jesus would have been nothing if he had not been resurrected, and His death has no meaning if he did not rise again in 3 days.
The points that really hit me during the week were;
.Although Jesus' death cleansed our bodies, we are still wearing the clothes of sin.
.A dead Messiah ain't the Messiah, Jesus' death alone does not save
.We ought to live like Jesus died yesterday, rose today, and will return tomorrow
.We must put aside the Romantic notion that we would have believed in Jesus if we had seen all the evidence, because the Pharisees DID see all his miraculous deeds and concluded that they must kill him NOW.
