Passion!

YAY FOR PASSION!

Yes, I spent my 19th birthday working for Eminence, but heck, I had fun!
I was with a big group of people who I liked, and I was kept occupied doing different tasks, bossing people around, and I also got to hear some good music, and ran into some people in the audience I knew including Joanna, Justin, Angela, my head of Japanese at Usyd, lil Rebecca (Grace's sister).

I also go autographs from two famous Japanese composers and got a photo with them, and went out to an after party at which our 40 odd group ate over $1200 at a seafood restaurant, so Happy Days!

Studio One recording session

15th December 2006

Today I got to go to the recording session of the music for the Passion concert. When I got to Studio 1, Sakimoto-san and his assistant/manager Yamamoto-san were there. I got to meet them both, and Yamamoto-san and I had a nice chat together, using a mixture of broken English on her half and English with random Japanese words thrown in on mine.

It turns out that Yamamoto-san is the production producer for Digimon, and she was very happy to hear that Digimon are quite well-known here in Australia.

I was asked to help Josh (percussionist) to set up his equipment, which offered me an additional chance to have another nice chat.

Mitsuda-san and Miyajime-san arrived a little later, and I was introduced to Mitsuda-san as a fan girl (yuck!), because my introducer found out that I like a piece from Chrono Trigger.

My day was spent answering phones and taking messages, repeatedly asking the studio staff to turn down the air conditioner because the guests were freezing, fetching coffee, page turning, and listening to a couple of songs over and over again as they rehearsed, recorded, re-recorded, listened, and picked tracks.

Quite a nice, productive day. Looking forward to the concert tomorrow!

Holidays part1

My holidays so far...
I've been wasting time watching anime, including;
Crest of the Stars
Vampire Princess Miyu
Fullmetal alchemist
Perfect Blue
Angelic Layer
and more BLEACH!

I've also been looking for a job, but haven't had any success so far, but I'm going to go out to Rhodes 2moz and give out my CV to a couple of places.

I went to my high school friend Aimee's 19th bday party, and there were people from MLC and the Con there, so I reckon I knew the most people, and yet for some reason I don't think I felt the most happy or comfortable there. That's prolly because I really don't have that much in common with the MLC girls anymore, and I barely had anything to say to them, even though my whole group was there.

Then with the Con peeps, I only knew about 4 or 5 of them, and not very well, so I had fun meeting some new people.

Here's a brief list of the people who were there; Aristea, Sarah, Vatche, Van-Ahn, Dan Dang, Tom, Adam, Claire, Stephanie, Philippa, Christine Su, Aimee, Bonnie, Vanessa, Helen, Nat, Ghris, Rina, Kerrie, Catherine Ledang, Shorbena, Christina Lam, Giselle, Laura Wigzell, Maddie, Denbigh, Bel, Mel, Ray

I've also been busy with Eminence work, with the concert coming up this weekend and we being pretty under-prepared for the whole thing...

I went with mum to the Importers' Warehouse sale today (Sun) and we spent $192, which is already very small compared to last years $300 something. I bought a bag, 2 large bags for uni, a mirror for $9, and some small bits and pieces.

Also today was Tammy's school's annual concert (Fort St IMP). I got invited/dragged and had to endure beginner strings and un-tuned ensembles. However the senior percussion group was quite a surprise, and the vocal ensemble wasn't too bad either. Their jazz ensemble were very good, and I was thoroughly impressed with their music staff. But quiet, don't tell my sister I said that =P

I've also had a couple of shopping sprees, however I'm also trying to save up, so they haven't been as plentiful in number as I would have liked =P

Upgraded internet

Thank goodness, my internet quota has now been upgraded from 2 gigs per month to 7. I don't know how i survived on 2, and this increase has been so liberating, I was able to download Bleach 104 and 105!
Looking forward to a lot more surfing during these hols.
